Description

The California Botanic Garden Botanical Illustration Internship is open to undergraduate, graduate, and early career illustrators. Some training in botany or biology is preferred. Working with several garden scientists and staff, you will have opportunities to work on various research projects, including, but not limited to: illustrations for publications of plant species new to science, rare plant species central to conservation research, trait evolution, education, and outreach. You will have access to the garden’s five collections (herbarium, library, archives, living collection, and seed collection) and labs as resources for illustration. Opportunities for the successful applicant to participate in the Garden’s Summer Applied Plant Conservation Internship activities, such as workshops and presentations, will also be encouraged. This internship is offered in Claremont, CA.
