Description

The Shedd Aquarium Horticulture Internship is available to applicants who are interested in or are studying horticulture, urban ecology, urban agriculture, regenerative horticulture, public gardens, sustainable garden design, or related fields. To be considered for this role, you should be at least 18 years of age, desire to engage with our guests and help create a welcoming environment, be willing to work outdoors, and possess strong communication skills. As an intern, your responsibilities will include weeding, planting, watering, mulching, and deadheading as well as native plant propagation including seed collection. You will also perform natural and native landscape maintenance and harvest food crops in the display gardens. Interns will complete an independent project and share with the Shedd community (a tour or newsletter submission).
