The Traveler's Insurance Fire Investigative Internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a fire science program. To be considered for this role, you should possess strong analytical, problem solving, leadership, communication, and computer skills. As an intern, you will receive gain on-the-job training and learn about fire investigator professions available at Travelers. You will receive challenging work assignments that add value and impact the organization, including: investigating low value, low complexity fires generally involving occupational risks, including: burns, cuts, nausea from exposure to fumes, or back injury sustained while moving or assisting in the moving or lifting of equipment or material. Working in an assigned area as an intern partners with a Fire Investigator on issues of origin and cause fire investigations, subrogation, arson motive, and opportunity investigations. This program includes 150 hours of fire scene investigations and is offered in Hartford, CT.
