The Native American and Indigenous Economies Internship is available to undergraduate students in their junior or senior year, or graduate students working towards a degree with an interest in Native American or Indigenous policy. To be considered for this opportunity, you should possess excellent research and writing skills, as well as experience with data management and visualization, preferably with Excel, R, and ArcGIS or Datawrapper. As an intern, you will contribute to a range of projects assessing how changing patterns of federal and state investment are affecting Tribes and Native American communities. You will work alongside Metro scholars by assisting with research and writing tasks, as well as gathering information from literature, data sets, and practitioners and incorporating it into blog posts, reports, and briefs. This internship is offered as a hybrid role in Washington, DC, with the possibility of working on a fully-remote basis depending on residency.
