The High Country Conservation Center Sustainable Food Internship is available to students who have a strong interest in environmental stewardship, sustainable agriculture, or local food production/systems. To be considered for this internship, you should be enrolled in an accredited institution, be able to lift/carry 40 pounds, enjoy working outside in varying weather conditions, be reliable and punctual, and possess excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with gardening, greenhouse, restaurant, or culinary experience. As an intern, you will report to and work directly with the farmer to complete the day-to-day operations of the CSA and GTS programs. This includes training to develop skills in bed preparation, season extension, direct seeding, transplanting, thinning, harvesting, and share preparation and distribution. Interns must also participate in two greenhouse opening and/or closing shifts per week. This internship is offered in Dillon and Frisco, CO.
