The Animal Care Rotational Internship is open to those over the age of 18 with an interest in animal care. Interns will rotate through three animal care departments (equine, primate, and wildlife), spending a month in each department. Duties may include preparing diets and feed/water in measured amounts using diet instructions, cleaning enclosures which may include raking, weeding, sweeping platforms, and climbing ladders up to 8 feet, observing and monitoring the health and well-being of animals and maintaining detailed observation records as directed, providing behavioral enrichment and stimulation on a daily basis, completing general housekeeping tasks, and other duties as needed. You must also complete a research project on a topic of interest and give a presentation at the conclusion of the internship.
