Posted 8 months ago I am trying to put myself through graduate school. I want to know how FAFSA decides my family is obligated to pay $5500 towards my education. How do they decide what other people are obligated to pay me? |

| Posted 8 months ago Hey, If a candidate is under age of 21, FAFSA considers him/her dependent on parents and decides that the parents have an obligation to pay at least a fraction of the tuition fees of their child. A perticular amount of this fraction ($5500 in your case) comes through the calculation of FAFSA calculator after collecting all the income information of the parents. |
