online college and age

Posted 8 months ago Ok I could not go to college until my boys (6) were raised, a single mom who had a good paying unfulfilling job finally going back to school to finally work with special needs children. I have to go to college online since I am now disabled and cannot drive, plus it is much easier for me to do the work at my pace the way online college allows me to do. Now I cannot afford to go unless I use loans and grants, no problem but am I always overlooked for scholarships, due to my age? I am a Jr. and on target to have my Masters by the time I am 51. At times I feel as though I am overlooked as soon as my age has been seen, I have written for at least four scholarships a month since starting school. I carry a 3.53. GPA. Am I the only on who feels scholarships and other monies set aside for school only meant for the young? |

| Posted 8 months ago No. I'm a 26 year old sophomore housewife, and I have a hard time too. I think most scholarships are designed for students just out of highschool. I would say keep applying though! More people seem to be re-educating (or starting for the first time ever) right now. This economy has made more people realize they need education to have an "edge". |
