Since my layoff, I had to reevaluate my profile, starting with my education & training.

With no cetifications & past my 10 year eligibility, my GI bill won't cover my schooling. Took a chance  anyway & applied to a local vocational tech school.Only good thing is I qualified for Pell Grants.

The VA is your friend. Use each and every benefit that you are eligible for. One, vocational rehab may be available for you. Another is the brotherhood/sisterhood of us veterans who frequent the websites, facilities and offices of the VA. Ask at the schools for their military reps. Once you find a veteran, veteran's group or entity that will assist you, network the information. They have a tendency to know of others that offer the same services.

I am proud of my time in service and that I did what was required, and I believe this nation owes its existance to those of us who have and who continue to do what has to be done.
