Be careful, as there are no such thing as  no credit check private student loans anymore, and virtually every private lender will want to check your credit to see if you can satisfy their guidelines before even approving you for a loan. To get a private loan with an interest rate below that rate is very possible, yet very unlikely if either you, or your cosigner doesn't have extraordinary credentials in terms of credit, and income.
