I go to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. They are all very accepting here, and in fact this is where I came out that I was Bi, because I wasn't scared to say it. The thing with Stephens is that it is a predominately female school. All of the guys that go here either study theater or dance. That's why I say I don't know your situation. If you want to study theater or dance, you should totally come here to. You should just look at the website because our academics are AMAZING. Especially for dance and theater, and for women, fashion. I hope I've helped you at least a little bit and I hope you find the perfect school.

I recently graduated from the University of Georgia (in Athens, Georgia) and I think it is pretty good in terms of its GLBT inclusiveness.

We have an LGBT Resource Center ( http://www.uga.edu/lgbtcenter/), a GLBT-friendly health center, some GLBT organizations, and a few gender-neutral restrooms around campus. One cool thing about my school is that we are smack dab in the middle of Downtown Athens and there are a LOT of clubs/bars/restaurants including GLBT-friendly ones: http://faculty.english.uga.edu/~dawgspeak/lgbthelp.html Because I was a "shut-in" I didn't go to any bars and now I regret it. ^_^ Finally, the "big" things: UGA's non-discrimination policy includes sexual orientation (but, unfortunately, not gender identity; we're still working on that) and UGA offers soft domestic partner benefits to students and staff.

I am a bio-female and I dress androgynously (short hair, boyish clothes) but I never had any problems. There are a lot of people who dress "eccentrically" and they are treated just like everyone else. (Seriously. On some days, people would wear costumes for classes and no one cared. ^_^) There is definitely no unofficial dress code. I remember that there was at least one openly transwoman on our campus and I think she lived in the dorms.

Basically, I am an androgynous person and I had a good experience at UGA. If you are not a religous/spiritual person (I identify as agnostic atheist), I think you will be fine, too. Most people identify as Christian (of course, it's Georgia ^_^), but there are a lot of open-minded people at UGA. If I were you, I would google "lgbt college" because a LOT of stuff popped up. Good luck finding a school.
