I am a high school senior and will be attending a university about 45 mintues from where my family currently lives. I am of a typical hispanic background, meaning my parents are very attached and are pretty much against me moving out after graduation because of my "young age." Recently I mentioned to them that I would like to get my own apartment closer to the university and have since then been hearing about how "hard I am going to have it" and how I'll "benefit from staying at home." Of course I have friends who say it won't be as bad once I actually get out there, but I don't want to base my decisions off of what others say. I feel like moving out will help me feel more independent, help me "grow up" and will benefit me moreso than staying home...but quite frankly I'm honestly confused on this whole situation. Any suggestions?
