So I am in Advanced English IV and around late September my english teacher assigned a Multi Genre paper. This sounds easy enough doesn't it. Wrong. We picked our topics and started ressearching and about every other day now we have a piece of the paper due. It sucks and it is extremely stressful and on top of that she has been assigning other homework so that we don't fall behind in her planning schedule. And yeah after basically being told by my teacher that my paper is going to be a failure and practically ripping my hair out, I am glad to say that the paper is more than half finished and we turn it in on November 23rd. Now all I have to do is last until then without going insane.

Essentially what I was originally going to ask is, Is anyone else feeling the pressure in their senior year? Because I sure am!!!

P.S.- if anyone is curious the title of this discussion is a line from Gilmore Girls. If you knew that you are amazing

I know what you are talking about!

For my part, I had to fit a biographical research essay, historical essay, Calculus homework, and my first shot at the SAT into one week. Oh yeah... don't forget the college applications and some legislative responsibilities! I know the meaning of stress, trust me.

It is times like those that I have to think about Calvin and Hobbes. If you are unfamiliar with the comics, Calvin's father always tells the boy that bad experiences build character. I don't know about you, but I sure hope that they do!

Are you talking about the papers due in college or high school?  Either way, they are both stressful, especially when the teachers specify to the point where you might as well ask for an F,  because you know for sure that you have no clue where to get the information required.

P.S. College essays are harder if asked to interview a professional for your application paper that counts for 35% of your whole class grade.

Just started my senior year, and there is already so much crap to do. I'm in the I.B. program and trying to go Diploma. This week my extended essay is due, my first draft for the internal assesment in history, my internal assesment for english, and all the rest of my college stuff. It seems hard, but at least I can take some solace in knowing that everyonre else is feeling the pressure too.

Not to be a downer, but it's spelled "oy" for those who don't know their Yiddish.  However, I do love the title.  Fellow Gilmore Girls fan!

I have also found it ridiculous that I have two off-periods, and I still don't seem to find enough time to do everything.  I hate to think what a mess I would be in if I had to go to school all day.  I go to so small a school, I have never heard of IB.  We've only got 4 AP classes, but we get to take some classes from the local community college.  I am taking English and Government.  So technically, I'm already in college.  I have already written 7 papers in English.  Government is ridiculously hard, and my professor cackles with glee when we tell her she's talking too fast.

Good luck on the SAT, Simple Spy.
