I've spent so much time in different majors... first fashion design (spent two semesters), then elementary education(spent one semester), then youth ministry (spent two semesters), now.. social work?  Here's what I feel called to do:

I want to start a home for teen girls who need to leave home for some reason (abuse, financial, pregnancy, etc).  While I still want to incorporate youth ministry into this, I feel that I should focus on social work while I'm finishing up school, and minor in youth ministry.  I plan to get my master's after I graduate as well.  Does this sound logical or even possible?

I'm about to make the official switch of majors AGAIN, and I want it to be right.  Please offer helpful advice!  Thanks!

SarahS4011,

I'm not sure that I can give you much advice in this area; however, I want to strongly encourage you in your plan. This is an awesome idea and is definitely logical and possible! Just make sure that it is what God wants for your life!

Good morning,

Your desire is admirable.  I am working on my Masters in counseling and would like to suggest that you set your sights on your goals; overcome the obstacles that may arise without fear; and pursue your dream.  One of the first things I would do is to chech with your state's--or the state in which you desire to live--and inquire of the states licensing requirements and the academic credentials and training required.  Armed with this information you have a better chance at success rather than traveling a path that may not be required.  God luck and God bless.
