I'm new to this credit thing and am working on building what little credit I have. I was thinking about applying for a personal loan but I've read that there are different types and I'm not sure which would be best for me. What's the difference between an unsecured personal loan and a secured one? I'm pretty sure a secured loan requires some kind of collateral but what kind of collateral and what's the difference between the two?
