Posted about 1 month ago Okay, after taking my second SAT's the time around, my score did not budge even though I took a few SAT prep classes before. My math score is good enough to get into my 1st choice, but my reading score is far from that. Every time I start the passage, I get the gist of it... and then the questions blew me off with its multiple choices. I was thinking, "Ohh, this doesn't seem right -strike- this one is too long -strike- and this one sounds like it, but I don't think it was in the passage when I read it. The vocab is fine, but I guess that I lost much of that from my wrong answers on the passages. Implications! All the multi- have the right idea! Help! Any wonderful tips/strategies??
Here's one of my recent ones: when reading a passage, get out: 1. main idea of what the reader is telling, 2. the tone of the stroy, 3. some funky words and phrases 4. the structure of it....

| Posted about 1 month ago The reading can be tough! If you are taking the SAT again and are interested, the Kaplan SAT prep book helped me immensely with my reading. Really, it helped me in every section. It really is something I reccomend that you look into. They explain it well without getting too complicated.

| Posted about 1 month ago Yes, I've taken the Kaplan SAT Prep classes. After my experiences with it, it really didn't help much on my scores as much as my community college sat prep classes. The college taught me "short and simple", and I get that part. (This is my last test for SAT's and hopefully I'll do well) Thanks! |
