Hey there!

I'm a senior and have started to apply to universities, however I keep doubting myself. I have a good GPA, its not the highest but its above a 3.5. My test scores are solid. I am involved in a lot of clubs and do waaaay too much community service. Still, I can't help but get the feeling I've overlooked something or I just won't make the cut to my top choice schools.

Is anyone else feeling this way? Advice?

Thanks. =]

I think that is natural when it comes to applying for a college. The apprehension is something that comes with the process. However, if what you say is true, you should be fine. Community service hours, a good GPA, clubs...these are all things that colleges and universities look for in someone when they are selecting. I'm still a junior in high school and I sent my first scholarship application in, I was scared half to death. My parents had to get me to keep my mind off it for a few days just to calm me down, but when I got it in the mail, I was surprised that I had actually won the scholarship!

Anyways, what I mean is, don't doubt yourself and take a deep breath. Your GPA sounds good and you seem like a well rounded student so I'm sure you'll be fine. Also, if you ever find yourself doubting your academic abilities, just try to look at what you've accomplished and not think of what you haven't done. I'm sure once you see that first, "Accepted" letter you'll feel better

I wish you luck though!

I'm sorry if this didn't help you. I was trying to get some advice. There is no need for comments like that though, and if you didn't like the post don't respond.

ok not gonna lie. I am TOTALLY ready to done with highschool already!!! but as far as going to college goes well.......not really prepared. i haven't started applying anywhere! i guess i'm kinda freaking out cause this is really a reality check. to me this is where you start your life on your own and if you screw up your SOL.

idk maybe i'm overthinking this way too much and that's why i haven't started doing anything. all i know is that it's going by way fast and i don't think i'm ready to handle all of it.

Honestly, I think you're set. I'm lucky if I'll get accepted anywhere besides the community college... I kinda dropped the ball when it came to school, and grades... and if you've got over a 3.5 then you're pretty much set for a while... If you're worried about it, join a bunch of clubs... chances are you're going to be accepted into any ol' college... however, maybe not get a full-ride to Havard. (Join Debate... apparently rich people have nothing better to do but give kids that excel at arguing a whole bunch of money)
