Hi everyone. Well I thought since this was a job search forum, I might tell you all about Job Corps.

I am currently a student enrolled in the Job Corps Program. It is a Program run through the department of labor, for people 16-24 years of age. There are a bunch of different trades avalible depending on which center you want to attend. The program runs from 6 months to 2 years depending on what trade you take and how motivated you are in your trade. while on center you can earn your GED for free or get a high school diploma if you haven't graduated from high school.

You get your meals, room and board, clothing, and some other stuff for free. you get a 2 week summer break and a 2 week winter break off campus. (the center pays for your bus ride or plane ride home and back. unless your a local student). at the completion of trade you get a certificate of completion from your trade, a high school diploma (if you completed high school on center) and a certain amount of money depending on whether you completed just a trade ($750) just education ($250) or both ($1200).

The center helps you find a job, housing, and sometimes a car once you are nearing completion with the program.
