Definitely its is! You have to pursue what you like no matter how much hardships u have to go through, coz if we go after something just for ease or money, later the term satisfaction will be only a reverie..

Good Luck! I myself am gonna puruse an Organizational Psychology/Behaviour with the same passion for helping people change for the best!

I am  struggling with the same thing.

I want to go into psychology.

I'm really into it and I want to help people.

I just want to make sure it's what I want to do and go to school for rather than just something I'm interested in.

Psychology is worth it. Without this feild many questions about behavior and the mind would not be answered without following the bible. I will be a graduate in Psychology with a minor in Education in 2010 and I can't wait.   When you have a degree in Psychology, you can find a job in almost any field. Ex: business, schools, hospitals, and more...You must stay focus and it will not be hard...I LOVE PSYCHOLOGY  I am trying to do something in counseling psychology. But when you go into this field you have to know exactly what you want to do and where you want to do it at because if not, you will be lost. I'm going to become a high school guidance counselor then with my master become a marriage counselor. You have to want psychology to allow it to want you.  So to anyone that wants to look into psychology, sit and think about is it what you really want to do in this field and be specific...

i have been considering this same thing myself. but i have decided to go into social work...you still work with/offer advice to/counsel people, but in four years of college you can be licensed to do so. its not as long of an education...but when it comes down to it your doing the same job. just possibly getting paid less.

Ahhh! Totally worth it! I had to decided between majoring in music, something I love to do, and Psychology, something I knew would make me succesful. Luckily, Psychology gives you the best of both worlds. You can be in love with it, and be succesful because of it! :)

If you are patient and have a easy time with communication skills, shakema thier is no reason you couldn't do well at psychology. and it does lead to multiple career paths.

Psychology is definitely a worth-while field and the classes are really not that hard if you're interested in them. Just make sure you aren't confusing clinical psychology with counseling psychology. You'll learn the difference in Intro to Psych.

If you aren't sure, go to college as undecided and take Intro to Psych as a distribution requirement and see how you like it. There's always time to declare a major later (you DON'T have to make that decision until junior year of college). If you become interested in in the field or another field and it isn't offered by your school, you can always transfer. Or, finish your distribution requirements and wait for junior year to come around when you have to reapply to your school anyway. It's also a good time to transfer.

I say...

You have a lot of time to decide. Don't rush it! It's said that the average student changes their major 5 times in college. Start out as undecided and take intro courses and see which you are actually more interested in.

I wanted to be a Psychologist since 8th grade, and I feel like Psychology is definetly a major thats worth anyone's time who loves to talk to people and interact with other people's struggles and difficulties in life. Yes, I feel that Psychology is worth everything, but I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. I love talking to people and having people come to me when they have a problem or issue, but if your not that kind of person then I guess the job is not for you.
