Posted 6 months ago My parents have applied for private loans, but I have been denied because of their credit. We're currently waiting to hear on the parent PLUS loan, but I am supposed to leave for school next weekend and I might not hear in time. I've taken out the stafford loans, and I know that if i get denied the PLUS loan that I still receive another 4,000, but that won't be enough to cover my tuition. Is there ANY other way that I can take out loans on my own? I've looked for scholarships and nothing seems to be working.. there HAS to be a way... |

Posted 6 months ago Have you considered Federal Work Study at the campus you are attending? The pay is at minimum wage but it is better than no money. You can work the max hours of 20 hours per week and you work according to your class schedule.

Posted 6 months ago I've been looking for jobs but I need the money up front. I also don't qualify for work study because my parents make too much apparently.. I don't qualify for the perkins grant either because of this.

Posted 2 months ago hey have you tried working online. There's a website that pays you to complete a few simple surveys. It doesn't pay all the bills but it helps out alot. If you want to check it out its; it's pretty self explanatory. Good luck hope this helps.

Posted 2 months ago Some schools offer installment programs. Yes, it costs more that way, but it may be an option. Also, talk to the school about funding. If you don't return, they miss out on money.
