Posted 2 months ago When I first started college it was about getting a job that would pay me a good amount of money. Now its all about following my passions and doing what I am becuase I know I would be much better at my work if I could do what I truly am.

Posted 2 months ago I'm an English major because that has always been my favorite subject. Jesus, not money, is my top priority. If I'm going to be in the workforce for 30-40 years, I need to find fulfillment in my job.

Posted 2 months ago your major should be something that you are passionate about. I woldnt pick something really specific my first year. Start with a subject that you enjoy and thennarrow it from there. If you dont enjoy what you do, you will not be happy.

Posted 28 days ago Towards your career, would it be worth it if they didn't pay you any money? Test yourself to see if you are in the major because you want to earn money, or because it's an interests that you have a passion doing it. So many people switch their major in college because they lose their interest, or their goal wasn't set up right. When choosing a major you must know that you probably won't like everything you will do, the difference is that even at the worse times (ex: classes), what keeps you inspire to keep going is your passion for that field.

Posted 28 days ago When I started college all I wanted was to get done with it asap and enter the workforce making decent money, that's why I choose nursing. Honestly, I always knew it would be something I would like to do, but not something I would love, love, to do; but considering that is a 2 year program, and I'm 24 already, I decided to go for it. Last year I started to volunteer as an english and spanish tutor at a local community center; this changed my priorities. Now my major is education. I'm hoping to become a college professor, and I know I would love, love, love to do that. Of course, I'll be in college for a while since I need at least a masters to teach at a community college. I know it'll be worth it, I know I love to teach, and that's what matters.

| Posted 24 days ago I'm almost on the same boat as you. Me however, I keep changing my mind, almost everyday. I have WAY to many interest and feel very passionate about all of them. (Theatre, photography, music, writing, film/television, aviation, and nursing/medicine). My original plan was to become an English teacher. However, I just started to get into the Nursing area more and am reading/teaching my self a bunch of stuff and find it very interesting. I still however, have my ultimate passion for theatre. I want to go to Tisch school for Dramatic arts VERY bad but I feel I also, because of the times need a career that can support myself.
Perhaps if I got into the Tisch School Of Arts, and I did volunteer EMT work on the side, do you feel that would be a good alternative. Because once, I get my degree in theatre if I persue that route, I would move to LA and audition for film and television but would need to support my self so I feel perhaps doing EMT work, would be able to keep myself alive by paying for just the basics? Do you think it's possible or do you have ANY suggestions at all!!

Posted 24 days ago I took on picking a college major in a really unique way and if anyone has suggestions on the pros/cons of this let me know because I often question it. I'm a Nutrition major with the goal of becoming a dietician and work in a nursing home. Don't get me wrong. I love food and learning about it is very exciting to me. I definetly want to do research studies on how important healthy food is and help others in that area. Plus I love the elderly so working in a nursing home is plus BUT, its not what I intend to do till much later in life. First and foremost, I'm a writer. I've been freelancing off and on the past couple of years, I write for the school paper and invest a lot of my time in perfecting my craft. But a major in English was out of the question cause it pretty much leads to a teaching job and I hate kids. lol. And I by the time I thought of majoring in journalism I realized I was already doing it without the degree and can excel further just based on my track record and experience. But I still struggly in nutrition classes. Its a love but only a second love. But I know i'm doing the right thing. I wanted something to fall back on and this is it. My true passion: writing is what I am doing already and don't have to invest money in a piece of paper to validate it. anyone in the same kind of boat?

Posted 15 days ago i'm choosing my major based on my passion. I would rather be happy and not get as much pay in the beginning, than get paid 6 figures at entry level and be unhappy working 9-5. if my passion doesn't work out for me, then i'll have a "plan B"

Posted 14 days ago I chose Youth Ministry and Adolocent Studies. Not exactly a money maker... but it has purpose. No one will ever find a job that fulfills them because fulfillment doesn't come from working. Find a job with purpose.
