I'm married (31) and my husband makes 55,000 -60,000 a year with his job. I am currently not working. We don't have extra money really. We're bogged down with bills (rent, car loan, ins. med., utilities, food). I'm starting college this fall and already registered and paid out of pocket. I'm just taking one class to start. I have two kids, 9 and 11 years of age. I had been working for a couple years before quitting in July 08. So last years tax returns have extra income on there from when I was working. This coming tax season we can file with just his income. Any idea if that will affect my financial eligibility or anything? We make too much to get pell grants and too little to pay for more then one class per term if I'm lucky...I looked into financial aid..fed. stafford loan is really small and the non fed stafford loan has too much interest for me to in good conscience take. I feel kinda stuck in a rut. Is there a good way to go about paying for college here?? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
