Any tips on creating videos?  It seems over half the scholarships I qualify for (which isn't that many since I'm a grad student) are video contests.  Unfortunately, although I've had lots of practice writing papers, I've never had the opportunity to learn anything about making movies.  For example, are there free programs that are more sophisticated than Windows Movie Maker?  I obviously can't afford to pay for something or I wouldn't have to bother applying...
