Jones initially intended to enroll at the Iowa State University, but instead, chose to follow her role model, Kim Carson to Louisiana State University, according to Wikipedia. By the time she graduated, Jones was an 11-time All-American and a 6-time SEC champion, and she is ranked among the top-three women for all-time in both the 60-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles.

She graduated in 2005 with a degree in Economics.
