Most apps are flexible for both android AND iphone. People need to get a grip. The article is about useful smartphone apps for students, not your opinion on the Apple vs. Android battle.

If the author had done a bit more research, she could have easily included almost identical versions of all of these apps for Android phones (which, can all be downloaded free). Just another Apple-centric follower who drank the KoolAid! Everyone else, it took me less than 10 min. to download the Android versions of these apps. They are all equal to, if not better, than the apps the author lists here (e.g., the Flashcard app allows you to develop flashcards on you computer and then download them to your phone via a sync feature).

Shame that the only "smart phone" and programs listed here is an I-phone, how silly are you people. There is a whole other world of smart phones and their apps out there...not just the I-phone. How stupid do you think we are?

You tell 'em, epicia -- who wants an overpriced iPhone on an iffy network? Give us useful information about applications available on a broader variety of handsets available for most any network -- Android. Sure, Apple was there first, and 'cause they hold the reins tighter on both the hardware and software, the iPhone is slicker and has fewer glitches. On balance, though, I'll take the glitches if it gives me more choices and lower costs. That's why Apple lost the PC war and "lesser" PC architectures won. I didn't buy Apple 'cause I couldn't afford it, and the same goes for smartphones. Android is gaining by leaps and bounds and will likely win because it allows more more competition, which leads to a more vigorous development community and more choices and lower prices for consumers.
