The College
Roberts Wesleyan College (RWC) is characterized by its mission: scholarship, spiritual formation, and service. RWC was founded in 1866 as the first Free Methodist academic institution in North America. Since then, the institution has continually adapted its programs to meet the current academic, professional, and personal needs of its students. The integration of broad-based intellectual thought with the Judeo-Christian heritage is and always has been the motivation for Roberts Wesleyans existence. The College fosters wholesome principles by setting standards for student life, requiring regular chapel attendance, and maintaining a perspective rich in values within the classroom.
The current enrollment is 1,871: 1,346 women and 525 men. Although students come primarily from New York State, twenty-one other states and twenty-two other countries are represented. The majority of students are between 18 and 25 years of age, but there is a growing population of married and older students. The traditional undergraduate population is primarily residential, with approximately 70 percent of students living on campus.

The Colleges suburban Rochester location also allows students to take advantage of cultural and academic opportunities within the community. The Colleges intramural program complements the intercollegiate sports program. There are six varsity sports for men: basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field; there are seven varsity sports for women: basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Students may take advantage of the Voller Athletic Center, which includes a pool, four basketball courts, an indoor track, racquetball courts, a weight room, saunas, a student center, BTs Caf, and a bookstore. The Career Services Office provides numerous services for students. Other College services available to students include academic advisement, counseling, and assistance from the Learning Center.
