The Institute
Globe Institute of Technology is a dynamic and personalized four-year college located in the heart of New York Citys financial district. Under new and committed leadership, it has a small-college environment with large-college resources and provides students with a challenging and broad-based education. Globe Institute of Technology offers a flexible curriculum and degree programs at an affordable cost. Students may choose any number of options in bachelors and associate degrees and certificate programs from more than 120 subject areas, including accounting, health care, finance, information technology, computer programming, and sports, hospitality, legal, medical, or business management.
No matter when or where a student begins course worksummer, fall, or spring; day or evening; on campus or onlineGlobe Institute of Technology is geared to accommodate flexible course needs and work schedules. Yet the campus has a full range of athletics, activities, and housing, which helps to make it a cohesive college community and allows students to have a complete college life experience. The college is a member of the NJCAA Division I, with athletic teams in basketball, bowling, cross-country, soccer, track and field, mens baseball and football, and womens volleyball. Many other clubs and associations are available, including a newsletter, Chess Club, Dance Club, Ski Club, hiking, Ping-Pong, Chinese Club, Latino Club, and African American Club.

Location
Globe Institute of Technology is located in the Tribeca neighborhood in the heart of lower Manhattan. The campus location puts students just blocks from Chinatown, Little Italy, City Hall, the Seaport, and Wall Street. Nearby access to the New York subway system links students with the rest of the world right from their own back door. New York City has limitless possibilities for recreation, culture, and nightlife, with 18,000 restaurants, 150 museums, theater on and off Broadway, arenas and stadiums for sporting events, world-renowned shopping, neighborhoods to explore, and gardens and parks. New York City is the main center of world trade and finance, a center for educational excellence, a creative outlet for the arts, and an international hub for advertising, publishing, entertainment, and fashion.
Majors and Degrees
Globe Institute of Technology offers the following degrees: Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), with majors in banking and finance with computer applications, business management and computer applications, computer information systems, health-care management, hospitality management, information technology, legal office management, management information systems, and sports science management; Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.), with a major in computer programming and systems design; Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), with majors in accounting, business management and finance; and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), with a major in computer information systems, including Web development and video game design, computer programming, and information technology. Certificate programs include banking and finance with computer applications, business management with computer applications, computer programming and design, health-care management, hospitality management, information systems, legal office management, microcomputer programming for business, and sports science management.
Academic Programs
The A.A.S. degree at Globe Institute of Technology requires completion of 63 to 66 credits; major course requirements, including sciences, general education courses, math and computer science, social and behavioral sciences, and humanities; and elective courses.
The A.O.S. degree in computer programming and system design requires 63 credits of study, including 28 credits from major core courses.
The B.B.A. and B.Tech. degrees require 123150 credits, and the certificate program requires 3651 credits. Every baccalaureate program includes a required senior project, which serves as a capstone to the four years of study, integrating intellectual, critical, analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills from across the curriculum.
Academic Facilities
The Globe Institute of Technology library maintains a collection of more than 17,00 books on topics that are pertinent to study at the Institute, including computer science, mathematics, business, finance, psychology, social sciences, health care, and literature. In addition, students find current job information to help them make career choices that parallel their course of study. The library subscribes to dozens of print and online journals and newspaper indexes. The librarys computer room gives students free access not only to the Internet but also to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to help them prepare projects and research papers.
The Business & Company Resources Center database supplies global business information, securities data, and company profiles. The Health Reference Center academic database provides information for health research and consumer/patient education information. The National Newspaper Index contains nearly twenty years of the top 5 national newspapers in its database; the Custom Newspapers index provides an additional 150 full-text newspapers. Spanish-speaking students can use the ?Informe! database to access forty full-text Spanish-language magazine articles and reports.
Another unique facility for students is the Globe Institute Gallery. Founded in 2002, the gallery focuses on many art forms to promote students understanding of contemporary visual works. Its walls display samples of painting, drawing, photography, video and sculpture. Student may use the gallery in their art studies and research, and most specifically, in the contemporary component of art history.
Costs
Full-time tuition at Globe is $5475 per semester. Books and supplies are approximately $800, and dormitory housing is $3500.
Financial Aid
Scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, and athletic ability are available to Globe students. More than 85percent of students receive some form of need-based financial aid.
Faculty
The student-faculty ratio is about 10:1, so students enjoy many opportunities for mentoring relationships. The diverse faculty at Globe Institute of Technology has members from all over the United States and many hold multiple degrees.
Student Government
Globes Student Government is composed of leaders elected by the student body. These representatives organize events, coordinate activities, and act as spokespersons for the student body.
Admission Requirements
U.S. citizens must submit a high school diploma or its equivalent, recommendations from their college adviser and a teacher, a transcript, SAT or ACT scores, AP results, an admission application, and an immunization form. International applicants must submit an essay, a notarized copy of a high school diploma and English translation or its equivalent, high school and college transcripts, TOEFL scores, and other supporting data required for obtaining a visa. Every applicant must have an admissions interview and placement testing. Placement testing may be required to measure an incoming students level of proficiency for basic skills work. Students may be accepted with advanced standing status through credit by examination or through transfer of credits from course work completed at another college.
