The Swirbul Library is also the center of information technology on campus. The new 18,000-square-foot Adele and Herbert J. Klapper Center for Fine Arts has greatly expanded Adelphis art studio and classroom space and offers greater opportunity for nonmajors to take art courses. This is in addition to the current state-of-the-art digital graphics design studio and faculty offices and the expansion of drawing studios in Blodgett Hall.
In 2006, Adelphi broke ground on an ambitious construction project to expand and enhance academic, cultural, and athletic facilities. The new Performing Arts Center, planned to open in fall 2008, will showcase prestigious programs in acting, design/technical theater, music, and dance together under one roof. The new center will feature a 500-seat music performance hall, dance and recital rooms, music practice rooms, temperature-controlled instrument storage rooms, and a black box theater.

The centers three-story, three-court gym, which converts into a 2,200-seat arena for basketball games and other events, will accommodate recreational and intercollegiate athletes and health and physical education students, and can host NCAA tournaments and championships.
