FAQ: Jobs & Internships

How do I search for a part-time job/internship in my area?
Part-time jobs are posted to your results based on the ZIP code in your profile. If you recently moved to a new location, update your new ZIP code in your profile to view an updated list of part-time opportunities. You may update your ZIP code here.

A part-time job previously listed has disappeared. Where did it go?
If a part-time position has been removed from your list or there are no part-time jobs listed, it means that there are not any positions currently available in your area or that the posting has expired and the employer is no longer advertising the position. But keep checking - new listings are added every day!

What is the difference between a job and an internship?
Part-time jobs will always provide a wage. Internships are usually temporary, may or may not provide monetary compensation, and can sometimes be accepted by your college for credit. Internships are often related to your educational or career objectives.

You can identify part-time jobs and internships by checking the "Type" column on the Job & Internship Opportunities "Search results" tab.

How do I receive more information about a job/internship opportunity on my list?
To receive additional information about a job or internship on your Jobs & Internships Results page, click on the job or internship that interests you. On the "Job Detail" page, click the link: "Click now to inquire about this job!" You will be able to request more information on that job or internship.

After I send in my pre-application for a part-time job, what happens next?
Once you have submitted a pre-application for a job listing, an employer may contact you to further discuss your application and possibly bring you in for an interview. If you are not contacted by an employer, the position may already have been filled. Also, please be sure to fully read the job description as the employer may have put in specific directions to continue the application process (i.e. call a specific hotline or send in a full resume to a specific email address).
