The College
Daniel Webster College (DWC) prepares its students for individual excellence through a commitment to individual attention. The College's innovative curricula in aviation, business, computer science, engineering, information systems, marketing, social science, and sport management equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become tomorrow's industry leaders.
Daniel Webster College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the New Hampshire College and University Council. The College holds Federal Aviation Administration Air Agency Certification PSE 15-21 as an approved pilot school. Courses are operated under Part 141 and Part 61 of the FAA regulations.
There is a diverse student population at Daniel Webster College, with twenty-five states and twelve countries currently represented. A variety of living options promote comfort and enjoyment. Residential students are housed in five residence halls and in contemporary town housestyle apartments on the campus. The College Center houses the dining hall, the After Hours Caf, and the Residence Life and Student Affairs Offices. Movies, musical entertainment, and other special events are held at The Common Thread, which contains a piano and pool tables and houses a coffee bar. The Mario J. Vagge Gymnasium has facilities for volleyball and basketball, a weight room, and an aerobics facility. There are plenty of extracurricular activities, including the Student Activities Board, the student newspaper and yearbook, Jazz Band, Theater Group, Film Society, the Professional Pilots Association, a variety of intramural athletics, and other exciting programs. The Leadership Initiative and Student Life Office annually bring nationally renowned speakers and visual performing artists to the campus. A rigorous two- and four-year Air Force ROTC program is also available.
Home of the Eagles, Daniel Webster College's men's and women's sports teams compete in the Greater Northeast Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division III level. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, lacrosse, and soccer. Women compete in basketball, cross-country, soccer, softball, and volleyball. Ice hockey is currently available as an intercollegiate club sport.
Location
The College is conveniently located in southern New Hampshire in Nashua, the state's second-largest city and twice named America's Best Place to Live. The city's municipal airport is adjacent to the campus. Nashua is home to a symphony orchestra, theater guild, arts center, and several fine restaurants, shopping areas, and craft centers. Several Fortune 500 companies are nearby, providing employment and internships.
Boston is just 36 miles to the south, and Manchester, New Hampshire, is 20 minutes to the north. Excellent skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and boating and the scenic New Hampshire seacoast are all within an hour's drive.
Majors and Degrees
Daniel Webster College awards Bachelor of Science degrees in aviation/air traffic management, aviation flight operations (professional pilot training), aviation management, business management, computer science, information systems, management and information technology, marketing management, social science, and sport management.
Associate in Science degrees are awarded in aeronautical engineering, aviation operations, engineering science, general studies, and information systems.
Academic Programs
The College operates on a semester system. Courses are designed to provide the highest quality educational opportunities. Independent study, a customized internship program, and advanced-placement programs are available to qualified students. The College is known for its commitment to individual attention.
The College's Aviation Division provides one of the country's most innovative and respected aviation programs and is one of only a few to introduce glider and aerobatic flight into its educational programs. Students can qualify for private single engine, private glider, instrument, commercial, multiengine, and instructor ratings. A student instructor internship is available to qualified juniors and seniors.
Academic Facilities
Daniel Webster Hall houses several classrooms, laboratories, the College Store, and administrative and faculty offices. The 25,000-square-foot Anne Bridge Baddour Library and Learning Center houses the College's extensive library, the Academic Support Center, the Center for Career Planning and Placement, and computer labs. There are also conference and seminar rooms, audiovisual labs, classrooms, and staff offices. The new Eaton-Richmond Center houses faculty offices, multimedia classrooms, and a 350-seat auditorium and features five new, state-of-the-art Windows XP computer labs.
The Tamposi Aviation Center is directly adjacent to Nashua Airport, with its 5,500-foot paved and lighted runway and operating control tower. The College's fleet of aircraft includes Cessna 172 Trainers, Grob G109B motorgliders, Mooney 201 complex aircraft, Cessna 303 multiengine Crusaders, Piper Arrows, and Piper Seminoles. The center is fully equipped with a flight dispatch area, classrooms, offices, and a lab with single- and twin-engine Aviation Simulation Technology flight simulators. It is one of the few aviation schools with its own Air Traffic Control simulators.
Costs
Tuition for 200405 was $20,880. Residence costs, including room and board, were $8170. Books, supplies, and miscellaneous personal expenses are estimated at $3500. There are some fees associated with first-year flight activities. There are no laboratory fees.
Financial Aid
The College is committed to helping students make a Daniel Webster College education a reality. It offers more than $4 million annually in institutional funds through a variety of financial assistance programs based on analysis of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be obtained through high school guidance offices. DWC also offers four-year renewable academic performance scholarships to students exhibiting high academic achievement through high school GPA and other test scores. These scholarships range from $500 to full tuition scholarship opportunities. More than 85 percent of the students at Daniel Webster College receive some form of financial assistance.

Faculty
The student-faculty ratio at Daniel Webster College is 13:1. This provides the opportunity for individual attention and instruction, tutoring, and advising. While scholarship is encouraged and applauded, the prime focus of the faculty is high-quality teaching.
Student Government
The Student Activities Board and Office of Student Life coordinate a wide variety of student activities. Student Government represents students' views and facilitates meaningful dialog between the students and the College administration.
Admission Requirements
A student who has graduated from an accredited high school program is considered for admission. The SATI or ACT is required for all students interested in earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Consideration is based on high school performance and a letter of recommendation. Students may be admitted to the Septemberand Januarysemesters. Admission decisions are made without regard to race, color, creed, sex, physical handicap, or national origin.
Although not required for acceptance, a personal admission interview is strongly recommended. A campus visit, including an optional tour by air for students interested in the flight program, provides an important opportunity to gain valuable firsthand knowledge of Daniel Webster College.
