They might not have quite as much fun as you now, but when they're on a yacht and you're working at Mickey D's they are gonna be laughing their butts off at you. . . well maybe not, cuz they probably wont car about you hahah =)
Reality check for the person with 4.0 who might seem to "fall flat in their* face in the real world because all they seem* to have is book smarts."
Apparently those who haven't found the importance of good grades DO NOT HAVE good grades period.
Secondly, what do you consider "the real world?" What exactly do you think a college scholar should do to seem like he or she have "common sense and street smarts?" Is it because the scholar is not partying or attending social gatherings? If you are talking about the people with 4.0 GPA and how they are just "book smarts," considering college is about learning and comprehending one's personal career (which is mostly book smarts*), they are MUCH MORE connected than you in MUCH BETTER ways! They are most likely already an HONOR STUDENT who is a part of some kind of HONOR SOCIETY and other MORE IMPORTANT SOCIAL NETWORKS that will really help them in EXPERIENCING, and achieving in both college and professional goals(THE REAL WORLD*).
Third, "street smart" must be defined when you are talking down to a 4.0 GPA scholar. THINK ABOUT IT: Do you REALLY THINK you are street smart compared to that scholar? Because if you are any "smart" at all, YOU WOULD KNOW that a perfect A in almost any major are required (ex: Clinical Psychology) these days.
Therefore, if you think the 4.0 scholar has been wasting his time, WHY DON'T YOU study hard to find out WHY MILLIONS OF OTHERS are going for that 4.0 perfection?
Lastly, Why can't Dean Flagel show confidence in what he's saying? He's only part of (what's believed the number 1 upcoming college by US News and World Report).
It is definately not all about grades. I know people who have a 4.0 gpa and they are going to fall flat on thier face in the real world because all they have is book smarts. No common sense, no street smarts. Anybody who tells you it's all about grades is probably someone who has good grades and just wants to show them off.

Dean Flagel seems kind of full of himself... "because their wrong and I'm right"? What's that all about?
