The National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program is available to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who show a commitment to pursuing careers in biomedical, behavioral and social science health-related research. You must be a U.S. citizen, national or qualified non-citizen, be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited, four-year undergraduate institution, demonstrate exceptional financial need, and have a minimum 3.3 GPA to be eligible to apply for this renewable award. For each full or partial scholarship year, the recipient must fulfill two NIH service obligations: a 10-week summer laboratory experience and one year of full-time employment in an NIH research laboratory.
