The Jacobson Public Service Scholarship for Women, Children and Families is available to students at New York University School of Law. You must demonstrate outstanding academic merit and leadership potential with a strong commitment to providing direct legal services or doing policy work on behalf of women, children, and families (such as on issues of immigration, custody, domestic violence, parental rights, foster care, and health care) and promises to pursue such work in the United States for at least three years, submit at least one additional letter of recommendation that addresses your commitment to public service, supplement your admissions personal statement with a short public service essay not to exceed 750 words to be eligible for this award. To apply for the Jacobson scholarship, you should discuss in your public service essay your interest in working on behalf of women, children, and families.
