The Filomen M. D'Agostino Scholarship for Women or Children is available to students at New York University School of Law. You must demonstrate outstanding academic merit and leadership potential with a strong commitment to women's or children's rights, and promise to pursue public service work in the U.S. or abroad related to these issues for at least three years, submit at least one additional letter of recommendation that addresses your commitment to public service, supplement your admissions personal statement with a short public service essay not to exceed 750 words to be eligible for this award. To apply for the DAgostino scholarship, you should discuss in your public service essay your interest in women and childrens issues. This obligation begins upon graduation from the Law School or, if the scholar is hired as a judicial clerk, upon completion of his or her clerkship(s). If a scholar fails to live up to this commitment, the scholar must repay the scholarship.
