- The Illinois Fallen Heroes Scholarship is available to children of a fallen Illinois service member who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. You must be under the age of 30, a U.S. citizen and plan to or are pursing a post-secondary education to qualify for this award.
