- The Gloria Wille Bell and Carlos R. Bell Scholarship is available to entering freshmen at the University of Michigan, College of Literature, Science and the Arts. You must be majoring in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or another related field and meet one of the following geographical requirements to qualify for this award: You must be a resident of Virgina (with preference given to residents of the Gloucester area), be a graduate of a Chicago public or private school, be a graduate of New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, be a graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois, or be a resident of Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Oakland, St. Joseph, Van Buren, Washtenaw or Wayne County (with preference given to residents of Washtenaw County and graduates of an Ann Arbor area school).
