The Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in pre-school, elementary, middle or secondary school education at a West Virginia institution of higher education. You must be a resident of West Virginia and agree to teach at the public pre-school, elementary, middle or secondary school level in West Virginia for two years for each year of scholarship assistance. Undergraduates must have a minimum 3.25 GPA after completing two years of course work at an approved institution; graduate students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class or have a minimum 3.5 GPA to qualify for this award.
