The USDA/1890 Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen students at one of the 18 1980 Historically Black Land-Grant Institutions who will be studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences or other related disciplines. You must be a high school graduate or equivalent, be a U.S. citizen, have a high school GPA of at least 3.0, and have a minimum 21 ACT/1000 SAT score to be eligible for this renewable award. You must also demonstrate leadership and community service. Upon completion of your academic degree program, there is an obligation of one year of service to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for each year of financial support.
