The Palmer B. Carson-PFLAG Scholarship for LGBT Advocacy is available to graduating high school seniors who self identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. You must demonstrate an interest in service to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) community. You must also have applied to an accredited higher education institution in pursuit of either an associate's degree leading to transfer credits towards a bachelor's degree, or a bachelor's degree program at a four-year institution to qualify for this award. This award requires an essay of no more than two pages discussing either your life as an LGBT student, or how you have been involved in the LGBT community. Your essay should demonstrate how you qualify for this particular scholarship. Applying for this award does not disqualify you from applying to one of the other scholarships offered by PFLAG.
