The Lax Scholarship Fund for Gay Men is a scholarship that works to encourage gay men in academic achievement, leadership in their community, and being comfortable and vocal about their sexual orientation. Lax Scholarship Fund for Gay Men recipients can receive an award that is worth up to $20,000. In order to apply for the Lax Scholarship Fund for Gay Men, applicants must be from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties as well as Camden County. National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award The National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award honors undergraduate student athletes for their commitment to the game as well as the classroom. Approximately 15 student athletes are selected from across the country for the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award. Those selected receive $18,000 in fellowship money to help fund postgraduate studies. Winners of the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award are also eligible to receive anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 in supplemental grant money.
Every spring, Phi Kappa Psi gives $500 in scholarship money to an incoming male freshman or male transfer student through the Men of Excellence Scholarship at Iowa State University. This scholarship for men does not require membership to Phi Kappa Psi in order to qualify. Rather, applicants to the Men of Excellence Scholarship must only submit scholastic, extracurricular, and leadership experience information as well as an essay on being a man of excellence. The Men of Excellence Scholarship is distributed in the spring.
The USBC Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Scholarship is a fund set up for high school and college amateur bowlers. Applicants for the USBC Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Scholarship must be a resident of the United States as well as a participant in a USBC League. Monetary awards for the USBC Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Scholarship vary. However, the USBC gives up to $6 million away in scholarship money to amateur bowlers every year.
