The Prudential Spirit of Community Award is open to students in grades 5 through 12 who have taken time out of their busy schedules to volunteer in the past year. Local students are initially recognized by participating organizations and given a certificate.

After, a State Honoree is selected from all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia. State Honorees will receive a $1,000 scholarship, an engraved medallion, and an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. for a national recognition event. At the event, several National Honorees are selected for their outstanding service. The National Honorees will receive a $5,000 scholarship, a gold medallion, and a trophy.
