The Optimist International Essay Contest is open to youth under the age of 19 as of December 31, 2010.

Applicants must write an essay on the following topic: “How My Education is the Key to a Successful Future.” Essays must be between 700 – 800 words in length.

Contestants must enter through a local Optimist Club or an at-large contest if a local option is not available.
