The OAH Huggins-Quarles Award is given annually to one or two African American graduate students working toward their Ph.D. in History. Ultimately, the award aims to help assist graduate students with the expenses related to their dissertation.
In order to apply for the OAH Huggins-Quarles Award, students should submit a five-page dissertation proposal. The proposal should outline the dissertation, explain the impact of the dissertation, and describe primary sources. Also, the summary should include a one-page itemized budget explaining travel and research needs. Finally, applicants of the OAH Huggins-Quarles Award should include a letter from the student’s dissertation advisor explaining how the Award would help the student.
The American Indian Fellowship in Business Scholarship Program offers Indian students the opportunity to further pursue their academic and career interest in business. It is open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university. During the application process for the American Indian Fellowship in Business Scholarship Program, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to higher education in business as well as active community involvement in order to qualify.
Winners of the American Indian Fellowship in Business Scholarship Program are required to attend the Indian Progress in Business Awards Banquet. Transportation and lodging will be provided.
The NBMBAA Washington D.C. Chapter Scholarship Program awards three scholarships each year to undergraduate and graduate students. Winners of the NBMBAA Washington D.C. Chapter Scholarship Program are selected based on a written essay, involvement in community and extracurricular activities, and GPA. Recipients must also be enrolled in a business or management program at an accredited institution.
The NBMBAA Washington D.C. Chapter Undergraduate Scholarship is worth $1,000. There are two winners selected for the NBMBAA Washington D.C. Chapter Graduate Scholarships, each worth $1,500 and $2,500.
