Below is a list of summer-themed scholarships for you to peruse and apply for at your leisure (any other way would go against the rules of summertime) – just don’t miss the deadlines!

Travel Is Education Scholarship

Deadline: 1/31/21
Available to: 18 & Under
Award Amount: 4 awards from $500-$1,000
The Travel Is Education Scholarship is open to U.S. students in grades 6 through 12. You must submit two-dimensional artwork, photos or a writing (maximum one page) on the theme of "Becoming a Global Citizen". Sample topics are available on the Web site provided. You must be traveling on an ACIS tour between October 15, 2019 through October 14, 2020, in order to qualify for this award. Learn more about the Travel Is Education Scholarship.

American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) Student Paper Competition

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,000 Provided by the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA), the AMCA Student Paper Competition is open to student members of the AMCA. You must submit a paper at the AMCA annual meeting in your chosen mosquito related research field in order to be considered for this award. Optimist International Oratorical Contest

Available To: Maximum Age 18 Years
Award Amount: $2,500
The Optimist International Oratorical Contest is open to students under the age of 19. To be considered for this award, you must prepare a 4 to 5 minute speech on the topic, "How My Passions Impact the World" to be presented at your local Optimist Club's contest. Charlotte Latourette Outdoor Recreation Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: Varies The Charlotte E. Latourette Outdoor Recreation Scholarship is available to students majoring in outdoor education and camping at Ohio University. Friendly Ice Cream Corporation Scholarship

Available to: Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 3
Award Amount: $2,500 The Friendly Ice Cream Corporation Scholarship is available to students at Western New England College, School of Law. You must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award. Preference will be given to employees of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation or children of employees. Tournament of Friendship Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: Varies The Tournament of Friendship Scholarship is available to minority students enrolled in the Michigan State University, College of Social Science. You must be majoring in criminal justice, be a resident of Michigan, be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award. Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Scholarship

Available to: College Sophomore through College Senior
Award Amount: $1,000 The Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Scholarship is available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are attending a Wisconsin college or university. You must be pursuing a degree in horticulture, landscaping, environmental sciences, conservation, or forestry to be eligible for this award. Greater Baton Rouge State Fair/George Simoneaux Scholarship

Available to: College Juniors through College Seniors
Award Amount: Varies The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair/George Simoneaux Scholarship is available to full-time junior and senior students enrolled in the College of Agriculture at Louisiana State University. To qualify, you must be a resident of East Baton Rouge, Ascension, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Saint Helena or West Baton Rouge Parish. You must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have participated in County Agent 4-H or FFA programs, and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award. Gold Medal Portfolio Award

Available to: High School Seniors through College Freshmen
Award Amount: 16 awards of $10,000
The Gold Medal Portfolio Award is open to graduating high school seniors. You must submit a portfolio of eight distinct art or written works that exemplify originality, technical skill and personal voice in order to be considered for this award. Art portfolios must communicate a single cohesive idea or visual investigation and written portfolios must demonstrate versatility and diversity in writing technique and style. American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest

Deadline: Varies
Available to: High School Freshmen through High School Seniors
Award Amount: Awards from $14,000 - $18,000
The National High School Oratorical Contest is open to junior high and high school students who are under the age of 20 and citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States. You must prepare an oration on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government. Each individual state winner certified into and participating in the first round of the national contest receives an additional $1,500 scholarship.
