Scholarship Spotlight: Compassion and the Imprisoned Child Essay Contest

According to the United Nations, over one million children worldwide are living in prison without any legal assistance or possibility of a fair trial. This essay contest, provided by Oakseed Ministries, is part of their efforts to raise awareness about the problem of imprisoned children worldwide. The yearlong project will end at the Annual Day of Prayer for Children at High Risk on Sunday, June 6, 2010.

Applicants are invited to write an essay about; 1) issues facing children in prison and 2) to offer innovative ideas to help these children. The essays are to be a personal response from the applicant and not a clinical assessment of child imprisonment.

Students under the age of 17 must submit an essay approximately 1,000 words in length; students ages 18-22 must submit an essay approximately 1,500 words in length. For more information and official rules of entry visit Oak Seed Ministires OakSeedEssayContest.com.
