The advice I would give myself knowing what I know now is to stay focus on what you want. College is not easy. So find a way to make it interesting. It's a great way to meet new people.

Scholarships are a great source of money to pay for college, but most people don’t have the time or energy to look for them. And even if they do, there is so much information out there that it can be totally overwhelming! We provide personalized scholarship searches for students. We focus on locating more obscure and local scholarships that are hard to find. You can find more information at www (dot) Scholar-Dollars (dot) com. Of course, the ultimate result and money won depends on the student’s motivation, determination, and commitment. The money is there if you are willing to work for it!

I wonder if they'll do something like this for the kids who graduate next year. Guess we'll see. Maybe then they wont have to use cheap netbooks in class.

If I could go back in time to high school as a senior. I would tell myself to stay in school & graduate. Then, go to college and get my bachelors, before getting married. school is so much easier when there is noman or kids to continually interrupt.

My name is Ruby Maestas, i had a horrible childhood when i first started highschool that was the time my mom lost her job and i became homeless i really did try to go to school but my situation caused alot of psycological problems and i was unable to continue now that i am a mother i want to become a counsler to try to help others in my past situatoin if i could tell kids how hard life can be without a education and how hard that you have to work for minimum wadge i would do my best to help them realize how important education is and tell them to just keep trying no matter what obsticals you face it is worth it to over come them as early in life as possible

If I could go back to the high school senior version of myself, I would constantly remind myself perservance is the key to success. I would also paid far more attention to in my weak subjects which are Math and the Sciences. I would have work alot hard with my challenging subject so that the fear that I currently have of taking these subject would have disappeared once I started college. In high school I was more focused on friends and getting into mischief, now that I am older and wiser I would have made better choice in friends and the activities I was involved. I realized now that the teaching I received in my home country of Jamaica has help me become a better college student and I strive of excellent at all times. I was less focus on school work and more focus on being a class clown, which was not good for me. I excelled in several subjects such as English, Business, Physical Education, Economics, Accounting, Religious Education to name a few.
I would advised myself to work hard at whatever my hands found to do, focus a lot more on my academic endeavors, read more, use time spent with friends and family wisely. High school was fun however I could have graduated with a higher GPA if I had settled down and focus on my books and less on what friends were involved in. I would listen more to the advise given to me by my mother and the elders around regarding ceasing all opportunities granted to me most of all an education.
Spend less time trying to be the center of attention, clowing around and more on excelling in my class, not settlling for a B grade when if I had work and study alot more I could have earned an A grade. Giving each class my full energy not matter how difficult the task may have been. I would listen more and speak less. Understanding that teachers are not the enemy, instead they are there to help me reach my full potential, that the teachers may see greatness in me that I may not have seen in myself.

If I could turn back the clock and speak to myself when I was in high school, I would show myself the quote by Edwin C. Bliss that says, “Success does not mean the absence of failures; it means the attainment of ultimate objectives. It means winning the war, not every battle” I would use this quote to explain that rather than trying to maintain a 4.0 GPA , it is more important that I come away from university with a degree, and that I learn skills that enable me to succeed. I would also tell myself to focus on the things that I have achieved up until this point rather than focus on what I lack in comparison to others. I would also tell myself to be satisfied with myself knowing that I gave 100% effort in everything I did during university rather than worrying about little things.

If I could go back in time? I would tell myself to not listen to the people who wanted to prevent me from chasing a dream, even if their intentions were noble. I would tell myself what I told my own kids. Find something you love doing and pursue it. Income, and prestige don't matter if you find your occupation highly rewarding on a personal level. I would also tell myself to sit down and really think about what I want to do with my life, that setting clear goals with a plan of action does save oneself from getting completely side-tracked then sidelined.
Lastly I would tell myself, that I really am smart, I really do have talents, and that there are really only two opinions of me that I should listen to first and are the most important, God's and mine. He thinks I'm highly valuable, and worth blessing me richly and loves me excessively, despite my many failings. As He thinks I'm of great worth, then I must be, despite what anyone else may say.

If I could go back in time and speak with the high school senior version of myself, I would say...
"Although life is completely unpredictable and embarking on a new path is scary, you need to trust yourself. You need to believe that you know what is best for you. You need to always trust your gut instincts and do what you feel in your heart is right. You need to be more outgoing and not care so much what other people say or think. You need to take risks and not just sit back and wait for things to happen. You need to make them happen! You need to not be afraid to make mistakes, and understand that after you make one, it takes a great amount of courage to correct it and set yourself back on the right path, but you will feel better about yourself for having done so. However, the thing you need to remember the most is that time flies and life is way too short to be anything but happy. Keep yourself surrounded by your family and your friends because they are the ones who will always be there for you and believe in you when you don't believe in yourself. You have all of the tools to create a happy and fulfilling life for yourself. Work hard, but have fun too. And last, but not least...cherish each and every moment."

If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to take risks, don't worry about anything or what anyone thinks and fill out applications for grants rather than loans. The last thing I would tell myself...I quote..."Everything works out in the end...so if it hasn't worked out....it is not the end." Love big and worry little. Never worry about money...it is not worth it.
