Scholarships for Hispanic Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and Nursing Students

Costco Pharmacy Scholar Program
The Costco Pharmacy Scholar Program provides scholarships of $500 to
$9,500 to full-time Hispanic students pursuing a degree in pharmacy at
an accredited US or Puerto Rican college or university.
Applicants must have completed one year of their pharmacy studies.
US citizenship or permanent residency is required. Applicants must
have a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale and must demonstrate financial need.
The deadline is March 15.
Hispanic Dental Association Foundation
The Hispanic Dental Association Foundation awards scholarships of
$1,000 to $10,000 to dental student members of the Hispanic Dental
Association. The deadline is in late May.
Kaiser Permanente College to Caring Program
The Kaiser Permanente College to Caring Program provides $8,000
renewable scholarships to full-time Hispanic college juniors or
seniors who are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Applicants
must be US citizens or permanent residents and reside in northern
California. A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is
required. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. The deadline
is March 15.
Latinos for Dental Careers Scholarship (California)
The Latinos for Dental Careers Scholarship sponsors a $1,000
scholarship for dental students and dental hygiene students in an
accredited dental program that is associated with one of the six
California dental schools. The deadline is May 31. LDC also offers
a $500 scholarship for International Dentists who want to validate
their license in California. The deadline is May 31.
Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA)
The Latino Medical Student Association sponsors several scholarships
for pre-med and medical students. Award amounts vary from $500 to
$1,000 but may also include other unspecified amounts. The deadlines
are throughout the year, from mid-September to mid-July.
Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation
The Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation sponsors the Public Health
Scholarship Program, which awards $2,500 undergraduate and $5,000
graduate scholarships. Applicants must be Hispanic students enrolled
in the junior or senior year of college or in a graduate pharmacy,
optometry, nursing or public health program. Applicants must have a
2.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale. Recipients are selected on the basis
of financial need and a commitment to serve the interests of
low-income Latino communities in the United States. The deadline is
May 1.
National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN)
The National Association of Hispanic Nurses sponsors three $1,000
scholarships for Hispanic nursing students. Applicants must have a
3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale and must be a member of NAHN. The
deadline is in mid-April.
