Scholarships for Hispanic and Latino Students

Scholarships for Hispanic Business Students
The following scholarships are available to Hispanic students majoring in business, finance, economics and accounting. See also the HACE, HACU, HCF, HHYA and HEEF scholarship programs.
Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA)
The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting
(ALPFA) provides $150,000 in total undergraduate and graduate
scholarships to Hispanic students in business, finance or
accounting. Typical award amounts are about $1,250 to $1,500, although
some awards may provide as much as $10,000. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a
4.0 scale is required. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year college or
university (or transferring from a community college to a 4-year
college or university). Applicants must be US citizens or permanent
residents residing in the United States or Puerto Rico. The
scholarship is administered by the Hispanic College Fund. The
deadline is March 15.
National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA)
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) offers graduate
fellowships in management and business. Fellowship amounts vary from
$2,500 to $10,000 and are renewable for up to one year. Applicants
must be of Hispanic heritage and be US citizens or legal permanent
residents. A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale is required for students
who are applying from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program. The GPA
requirement is reduced to 2.75 for students who are applying from a
Bachelor’s degree program and have 2 years of full-time work
experience. Applicants must be student members of NSHMBA. The
deadline is April 30.

Justicia en Diversidad Foundation (JD Foundation)
The Justicia en Diversidad Foundation (JD Foundation) sponsors the JD
Foundation Scholarship and Mentorship Program to help graduating
Latino and Latina high school seniors attend college and pursue a
career in law. Applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0
scale. The deadline is February 1.
La Raza Lawyers Charitable Foundation
The La Raza Lawyers Charitable Foundation of Santa Clara County
sponsors a $2,500 scholarship for Latino law students. Applicants
must be from the Bay area or attending Santa Clara University,
Lincoln, UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, UC Hastings,
Stanford, Golden Gate University, UC Davis or McGeorge Schools of
Law. Recipients are selected based on financial need and community
service. The deadline is in late September.
MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program
The MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program provides scholarships to
first, second and third-year Latino law school students based on
community service, academic excellence and financial need. The
deadline is August 31.
Puerto Rican Bar Association (PRBA)
The Puerto Rican Bar Association sponsors a scholarship for first or
second year students enrolled in a JD degree program at ABA approved
law school. Award amounts vary from $1,500 to $2,000. The deadline is
March 1.
San Francisco Bar (San Francisco, California)
The San Francisco Bar sponsors the Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarship
for an underrepresented minority student enrolled in a Bay Area law
school. The award amount is $10,000/year. The deadline is May 15.
