The News Internship is open to students who are interested in public radio news programming and broadcast journalism. Interns will be involved in covering events and issues, remote and field recording, gathering sound, conducting interviews, copy writing, digital editing and news spot and feature production. Preference is given to students from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College. Internships are offered for a minimum period of one semester, or for the summer break, with the expectation of eight to ten hours per week of student time. They may be renewed for an additional period. WFCR does not offer compensation for internships.
