The National Prison Project Internship is available to students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in communications, political science, sociology, criminal justice or a related field. Intern duties may include supporting advocacy efforts to amend the Prison Litigation Reform Act by identifying key members of Congress, assisting with the production and distribution of advocacy materials, conducting factual research and writing, gathering current information related to prison and jail conditions for a resource library, documenting and tracking complaints and other duties as needed. You must demonstrate a commitment to civil rights, a strong interest in criminal justice, excellent research, writing and communication skills and strong computer skills to be considered for this internship.
